Q
& As
Q. Where are Matches played
?
A. Macc all year - Fallibroome High School
Congleton all year - Congleton High School
Q. What is Soccer7s
?
A. We are 7-a-side football leagues
played all year round
Q. How many teams will make up the
league?
A. Approximately 16 teams will make up
each league everyone will play each other.
This may vary depending on entry numbers but we will ensure that
teams’ actual playing time is always the same.
Q. What
Standard is each League?
A. We have a standard to suit all teams.
All towns have a Premier League which surpasses the quality of
any of our rival leagues (just ask around for proof !!) &
we have a First Division for those who don't like to play in our
the top flight.
Q. For how long will competitions run?
A. 10 weeks.
Q. When will my team
play their matches?
A. In Macc & Cong. between 18.30 and 22.00
Q. How long is each match ?
A. Teams will play an average of 45 minutes per week (this is
usually broken into 2 matches)
Q. Will I have to
wait long for the 2nd match ?
A. The vast majority of matches will be back to back. The league
guarantees that no team will wait longer than the length of one
match i.e. 25 minutes between the first and second match.
Q. How many people
can I enter as a squad?
A. Soccer7s - minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15.
Transfers may be made at any time through the season.
Q. How do I know
when the team is playing?
A. Fixture lists will be sent out to all registered teams. On
these lists will be full details of where i.e. which pitch and
at what time each match is played for the whole season.
Q. Can fixtures be arranged around
holidays or work schedules?
A. Yes - Only if you tell us before deadline.
nb. once the fixture list is finalised matches cannot be re-arranged.
Q. What happens if
my team is late for a fixture?
A. The time wasted i.e. how late the team is, will be deducted
from the game time. If a team arrives at 18.04 and the game is
scheduled to start at 18.00 the match will last 21 minutes. Teams
will also lose 1 goal for every minute they are late. If the league
is to be a success it relies upon people being punctual.
Q. Do I have to play
in a league already?
A. No, this isn't just for pub teams and existing clubs. We are
encouraging work colleagues and teams of friends to enter.
Q. What must I wear?
A. Teams are asked to wear the same colour shirts (they need not
be matching strips!). In the case of teams clashing bibs will
be issued. Also shin pads are compulsory as are astro boots or
trainers. Football boots/moulds & blades of any description
are not permitted on astro pitches.
